Good to know
The wider and taller the arch, the more leverage wind, waves and the weight of the panels put on the frame and deck fittings. To keep a larger arch stiff and secure, you will need more bracing, and in longer sizes, than for a smaller arch.

For a stronger, more stable fit, front and aft frames are made about 100 mm wider than the fitting positions. This gives adjustment and installation tension.
All measurements in millimetres, accepted within ±10 mm. The tube can be shortened on fitting but never lengthened after cutting. If your front and aft fitting points differ in width or aren't square to each other, the usable solar-panel width may change.
Download the printable measuring guide (PDF)Modular Standard fits most yachts: up to 3,000 mm wide, 1,900 mm high and 900 mm between frames. Choose Modular Large (up to 4,000 mm wide) or Modular XL (up to 4,500 mm wide) for wider sterns. If you're unsure, send us your boat make and model and we'll advise.
Both cost the same. 10° suits most sailing yachts; 20° can give more clearance over the cockpit or follow a raked stern. Ask us if unsure.
No. The arch comes with fittings for two panels of different sizes. You can add more panel fittings in Step 3, and we can fit your panels for you (from £100 +VAT).
Usually, yes. The wider and taller the arch, the more load it carries. Modular Large and XL normally need extra pushpit or arch bracing. We check every order and tell you what your boat needs before fabrication.
We also design, build and install fully bespoke arches in stainless steel or aluminium. See our custom arches page or send us your details for a quote.
Measure in millimetres between the centres of the fitting points. We accept measurements within ±10 mm. Frames are normally made about 100 mm wider than your measurement to give adjustment and installation tension.
No, the swivel deck fittings handle it. The usable solar-panel width may change, so give us both widths.
Tubes can be shortened on fitting, but they can't be lengthened after cutting. That's why we make them slightly oversize.
Yes. Two people with basic DIY skills can assemble and fit it in a day. You'll need a drill and bits, Allen keys, spanners, an angle grinder with cutting and flap discs if tubes need trimming, and suitable PPE.
Yes. The kit includes 12 × M8 × 60 mm deck bolts, all arch assembly bolts and four aluminium backing plates. If your deck is thicker and needs longer bolts, you or your installer supply them.
Bolted joints can be taken apart later. Riveted joints use SS316 stainless rivets to make the arch one solid piece. Riveting must be chosen before fabrication.
Yes. Our standard installation price (from £980 +VAT) covers boats within 25 miles of our Hayling Island workshop; further locations carry an extra charge. The price is preliminary and confirmed after a boat survey or once we have your boat details.
Clear access to the stern and under-deck areas behind the fitting points, marina permission if needed, and your panels on board if we're fitting them. Limited internal access can add time and cost.
Yes. The modular design takes aerial/GPS, Starlink and other brackets, bracing and panel fittings after installation.

Yes, worldwide in one box. Delivery is quoted by arch size and destination. Import duties and local taxes are paid by the customer.
Changes must be agreed in writing before fabrication starts. Because each arch is made to your measurements, orders can't be cancelled once fabrication has started.
Rinse with fresh water regularly and clean with a stainless-steel cleaner or polish a few times a season. This keeps the mirror finish bright and prevents tea staining, the light surface marks common on stainless steel at sea.
